What gaming events are going on in the province?
There are various gaming events in Manitoba, including raffles and ongoing events licensed by the LGA. In Manitoba, municipalities and First Nations Gaming Commissions may also issue raffle licences. The reports here only contain information about raffles licensed by the LGA. They do not include information about community raffles or ongoing raffles, such as weekly 50/50 draws.

Who can apply?
Only charitable or religious organizations are eligible to apply for gaming event licences. Funds raised through charitable gaming events must be used for education, religion, health, relieving poverty, or to benefit the community by promoting sports, recreation, culture, or any other area considered appropriate by the LGA.
As of April 1, 2014, the LGA also licenses individuals and groups who are planning a one-time social event at a venue such as a banquet hall, restaurant, bar or community centre, and want to have a raffle such as a 50/50 or players’ choice draw at the event. Do we need a licence?
You will need a licence if there is:
- a cost to enter or play,
- a chance to win, and
- a prize.
How do we apply?
You will need to complete an application and provide us with information about your organization. Please click on the links above for applications for each type of event.
How long does it take to get a licence?
The LGA requires up to six weeks to process applications. It may take longer to process your application if it is incomplete or inaccurate.
Do we have to pay licence fees to the LGA?
For most gaming event licences, you will not pay any licence fees if the anticipated gross revenue is $10,000 or less. If the anticipated gross revenue is over $10,000, the fee is will be 1.5% of the actual gross revenue. For Monte Carlo licences, there is a fee of $5.00 per game per day.
