Does my licence expire?

Yes. New applicants are issued a one-year licence. Your licence certificate states the expiry date of your licence. The LGA will send you a renewal form two months before the expiry date. The employee licence renewal application is also available at You must complete and submit this form to the LGA to maintain your licence. The year following your initial licence period, if there are no concerns, you will be issued a three-year licence. At this point, your renewal will only happen every three years; however, annual background checks will be completed between renewal periods. You will be contacted if these background checks raise any issues.
